We are all going to undertake our own research and then compare what we find in the next meeting
- Oscar nominated short films/ directors
- Short films that stand out to us and why - mise en scene, camera shots etc
- Look into blog posts, newspaper articles, magazines - what people consider to be their "greatest day"
- Create survey asking people about their greatest day (Kat)
We are also going to come up with some ideas of our own and share what we have come up with at the next meeting
The project is to produce a 2’30 film for the web.
You may lose marks if the film runs
under 2’00 or over 3’00.
The film must be a sequence which can be edited together with continuity in mind. You
should fully script and storyboard the piece to ensure that it is effectively planned and shot
(record this prep on your blog and include in your treatment submission if possible – see
below for more info). The emphasis is very much on the pictures for this project – ensuring
that everything shot is properly framed and sequenced so that it can be edited.
It is important that the film is exported in the correct format. Full details of this will be
provided in the Editing Laboratory.
Theme – ‘The Greatest Day…..’.
This must be shot on campus only (with due attention to all relevant permissions).
